"How
delighted I was to find the Midtown Market last summer (2006).
I came all the way into town from Long Lake, but I found the trip well
worth it because the market was so much fun and I found so many fresh,
delicious vegetables. I also picked up some fantastic Minnesota
Grown lamb and some of the best bread I've ever eaten. Thanks to all
of you at the Midtown Market. You can bet I'll be a regular customer and
return again and again."

What Makes Our Market Unique?
Shopping at the
Midtown Farmers' Market turns a chore into a celebration--a celebration of
our land, the seasons, our communities. It connects us to the people who
grow our food, and to our neighbors, just as it connects Minnesota's
honored farming heritage with its vibrant, modern city life.
The Midtown Farmers'
Market is not unique in offering locally grown or produced foods, but
we are uniquely devoted to a healthy, prosperous, sustainable future for
our families, our land, our neighborhoods both urban and rural. That's why
all of the fruits and vegetables you'll find at Midtown are grown in
Minnesota and Wisconsin. The freshest seasonal produce graces the growers'
tables at Midtown, and all of the other food products for sale at the
market--from artisan breads to tamales, from pickles to cookies, maple
syrup and honey, eggs and cheese--are produced locally. The same goes for
the naturally raised chickens, beef, lamb, pork and other meats you'll
find at Midtown.
What's in Season?
Our Vendors
Take a Photo Tour

Fresh. Local.
Flavor.
Our motto is exactly what the more than 50 Midtown vendors offer market
shoppers. Over 30,000 people visited the Midtown Farmers' Market in 2006,
and we're working hard to make the 2007 season--our fifth--even more
exciting, with more vendors and more excellent products, more programs
highlighting our wonderful local foods and diverse cultures, more fun,
more fresh, local flavor.
The Midtown Farmers' Market Began in
2003
With the birth of the Hiawatha Light Rail Line, volunteers
from seven South Minneapolis neighborhoods came together to make their
dream, the Midtown Farmers' Market, a reality. Originally, this group of
residents wanted to add a
local food source and a community gathering space to the boom of development spurred by
the Hiawatha Light Rail Line. Today, the market surpasses the founders'
dreams. With new vendors, new celebrations, and new shoppers exploring
Midtown every year, this market not only shares the joy of buying local
and direct from growers, producers, and artists--it celebrates the
diversity of our urban and rural communities. Come and check us out. We are
sure you will want to visit again.
